Franklin Torres is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer whose career has led him on a musical journey that has not only fulfilled his childhood dreams of singing and performing before live audiences around the world, but landed him the ultimate gig that would change his life forever!
At the age of five, Franklin discovered very quickly that he had a passion for singing and performing. As a youngster growing up in his native Mayari, Cuba, he was always surrounded by music. His family was his first point of contact to the rich musical heritage of his country, and he often sang for local events throughout the city. When Franklin turned 18 years of age, he packed up his guitar and moved to Havana, Cuba with the Spectrum Band and later joined Trío Xtasis along with his brother. The band would produce chart-topping singles across Latin radio stations in Miami and Puerto Rico. Additionally, Trío Xtasis’ popularity and music garnered international tours throughout Cuba, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and the United States and positioned them as the opening act for many well-known Latin artists such as, Grammy award-nominated artist Daddy Yankee, Angel Lopez, Grupo Niche, award-winning recording artist Maluma, and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, just to name a few.
Franklin along with Trío Xtasis moved to the United States in 2007 and settled in Miami, FL. The band would record two singles "OH Vida" and "Señora" for Francisco Cespedes’ album "Te Acuerdas" which was nominated for a Latin Grammy award in 2008.
Franklin continued his musical journey and formed FM5 with his brother and landed a television appearance in 2011 on the reality talent show, “Yo Canto.” Franklin’s incredible performance caught the attention of Warner Music Latina executives so much so that FM5 signed with the label and released their first album titled FM5. This success ultimately made Franklin hungry for more and catapulted him into a solo career that has lasted nearly a decade. His amazing vocals and gift of songwriting garnered him an invitation by Puerto Rico to sing "Vamos Por El Gol” before a stadium of thousands in Puerto Rico during the soccer match between Puerto Rico and Spain. Additionally, his performance propelled “Vamos Por El Gol” to the top 8th spot on Puerto Rican radio charts.
Franklin’s career took another unexpected turn in 2018 when he received a call to join the Marc Anthony Band as a background vocalist for mega salsa star Marc Anthony. This would be the ultimate gig that
would change his life forever.
As the world transitions from the devastation of the 2020 pandemic to the return of on-stage performances before live audiences, Franklin continues to tour the world with Marc Anthony while performing in local clubs in Miami and performing with the newly formed contemporary Latin band A Tempo, which he shares writing, producing, and lead vocals with three of his Marc Anthony Band bandmates.
